Being Alone with oneself is a luxury. Within each and every one of us, there is so much to explore and learn. But really, with the pace of our modern lives and the endless to do list, who has the time? My unsolicited advice: take the time. Stop. Shhhh. Listen. Feel. Put alone time on the top of your to do list. I have found that even just 10 minutes alone leaves me with a greater bandwidth of patience and compassion for the rest of the day. Forewarning: by doing this, you may start to like yourself a whole lot. Or, you may notice that you don’t like yourself a whole lot. But this is ALL good feedback because change of any kind always starts Within.

For more than 10 years I have viewed Stack Rock from the chairlifts at Bogus. I always wanted to take that hike and I finally did! It’s a rather simple 6 miler round trip...unless you are with great company, it’s a blissful sunny but cool day and you manage to take a wrong turn and triple your distance. Yep! After all these years, Stack Rock, I will always remember my first trip to you! Im so grateful my body managed 18 miles with ease. No map or gps needed😂.

What will this weekend bring?!?! Last weekend was StayCation. We booked a room downtown on the spot and pretended we had never been to Boise, Idaho before! We took those lenses off and created a weekend of seeing some of the same things with fresh eyes. Talked to people and followed ANY recommendation they had for “out of towners.” We strolled around downtown and went wherever our inner guide took us. Our journey took us to 2 art galleries I had never noticed, a light and music show while walking around the Grove, a dance party on 8th to a street musician, dinner at Fork (concierge rec.), pool and hot tub at hotel, stumbled upon a new restaurant where the iconic Piper Alley and Shigé used to be. We got super lucky there as they seated us and then told us it was a soft opening and everything (minus drinks) was on the house! We then got in The car and followed more recommendations Ike wAlking in the foothills and going to The Village. We hesitated at the last one but went anyway as we committed to taking our local lenses off and as it turned out, it was a super ending to our StayCation. Truly each day can be a fresh adventure. See things with new eyes, approach your day with a curious mind. Happy Friday, friends!

Sardinia (Sardegna), Italy. There are a couple places in the world that I actually yearn for...like even cry for because I desire it so deeply. This is one of those places. The first time I went to Sardinia was in August 1997. Truth be known, I didn’t even know it existed, where it was, that it was an island and that it was part of Italy.... those ingredients were right up my alley and so I jumped at the opportunity to go. The experiences, the friendships, the life lessons, immense nature, and the strong sense of self sustainability are a few of the attributes about this island that I hold close to my heart.❤️ This picture is the 30 ft. walk through the pine trees before arriving to the beach.... this first beach I set foot on in Sardinia. It’s called Spiaggia delle Rose (Rose Beach). I had never before seen pine trees juxtaposed with beach. It took my breath away 22 years ago and it still does. Can’t wait to get back! 🇮🇹❤️🌍🏖

Nearly 3 years ago to the day, I was single and in the middle of a career switch when I decided I wanted to have a baby. My head with a list full of reasons why it was a ludicrous idea finally took a back seat to my heart that knew it was possible and furthermore, a part of my life’s journey. Thank god I listened!
