Before he became a legend, Prince became a blueprint.

A musician, songwriter, producer, filmmaker, bandleader, fashion icon, and fearless creative force, Prince spent his career refusing categories. He blended funk, rock, pop, soul, jazz, and gospel into something entirely his own, proving that true artistry lives beyond convention.

On Saturday, June 7, we gather at Loa inside the historic International House Hotel to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the greatest creatives of our time on the eve of what would have been his birthday.

The evening features a special performance by Chloé Marie, bringing Prince’s music to life in the intimate setting it deserves.

Expect an evening inspired by the songs that changed music forever—from “Cream” and “Little Red Corvette” to “Purple Rain,” “Kiss,” “When Doves Cry,” and “Sign o’ the Times.”

Thank you for writing about our event on March 19 at IHH from 5 to 9PM. Here’s a little preview of what Ian wrote (for more of the story find the link in our bio). It was the wine tasting heard around the world, or at least around the wine world.

It was 1976, and in what would become known as the Judgment of Paris, a group of French wine experts sat for a blind tasting of wines from France and California. When the results were tallied and the wines were unmasked, the Californian bottles had won both the red and white categories.

It would eventually be seen as a seminal moment in the rise of New World wines, disrupting the presumption that the greatest wines must come from Europe.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the great upset, New Orleans wine lovers can take part in a festive reenactment.
