The Place Hostel The oldest hostel on the AT (est. 1975) for current long distance AT hikers, TA cyclist, Scouts. The hostel is cared for and maintain by volunteers.

This is a church facility.

Last week I had a group leader contact me about an update on the Creeper Trail. So, just to let everybody know the Creeper Trail is open from Damascus to Abington however, still closed from Damascus to White Top. The Forest Service has awarded the contract for the restoration and groundbreaking has begun. The contracting firm stated that the Trail should be up and running from White Top this fall. ๏ฟผ Last year we had several groups that did do the section from Damascus to Abington and of course the Hostel will be opened for AT hikers, TA cyclist and youth groups this year.๐Ÿ˜€
