Greetings ! Sharing a story today .. Don’t sweat the small stuff

Travel Follies 101 .

The day started with me leaving before I noticed the 1st flight delay . I figured I’d go through LGA instead of JFK to check out the new Delta terminal and lounge .. the Delta lounge is fab .. it’s huge, lots of seating , food was good , they have sleep pods .. this is the lounge right after you come through security . Bathrooms are clean , family room too .

It’s over the mountain and through the woods to your gate though. 🤨First gate was 79 the complete opposite direction, then 90 - then 81 😕. I saw ONE people mover only … and loads of signs telling you how long the walk is to your gate . Side note I found another Delta Lounge near gate 80 if anyone needs to know .

You definitely need enough time otherwise you’ll be running to the gate !

1st delay was because we were short a pilot and we had to wait for a new pilot to show .. 45 minutes later but while we were waiting …. The other pilot alerts us there’s no air in the back because it’s not working … so asked us for the duration of the flight to open the vents full blast , close the window blinds so the fresh air will circulate ….🥴

Next we have a very bumpy ride … and finally land . Only to sit on the tarmac because the landing thing - I have no idea what it’s called - which connects the gate to the plane ? Anyone know ? Well it didn’t work . 90 minutes and maintenance showing up and it was still broken .. they had to pull us 2 gates over ….

I love NYers because someone yelled “y’all don’t have no stairs y’all can roll up to the doors ?” 😂😂 It defused the tension because folks were antsy . I’m really glad I drink nothing on this flight !!

I was telling my sissy the story texting her and she called it the Secret Spirit Plane ! 😂😂😂

Finally I get to the hotel - and what do I see an email from Delta giving me 10,000 points for my trouble … and an apology . But what’s crazy … the email says due to airport congestion they had trouble getting us to the gate . 🤦🏽‍♀️ Guess she didn’t know the pilot told the truth! ?

You can’t make this up . Grateful to be on the ground .
