The gondola in Breckenridge is free to ride, and this townhome is 150 steps from the mid-station. comment BRECK for the link

Highwoods at Shock Hill is 2,374 square feet with reclaimed wood floors and a deck that looks straight at Peaks 6 through 10, and Main Street is a mile down the hill when somebody decides they want a real dinner. There's no shuttle service here, which sounds like a problem right up until you remember the gondola is 150 steps away and doesn't cost anything to get on.

Four bedrooms and four and a half baths for twelve people, with three kings that all have their own bathrooms, a bunk room, and a sleeper sofa down in the den, so the bed negotiation is shorter than it usually is. The kitchen is a real one, granite and an eat-in counter and enough seats that fourteen people can eat at the same time. Downstairs there's a wet bar and a PS5 and a movie library with more than 200 things in it, which matters on the afternoon somebody's knee gives out. The hot tub and the fire pit are on the lower patio.

4.93 across 55 reviews, and 44 of those are straight fives. Check it out!

$5,578 for four nights in February. The same townhome on airbnb is $7,293, which is $1,715 more for the identical stay, and $1,715 is more than a whole night here costs. Same townhome, same dates, no markup.

Breckenridge is already taking February bookings. 🎿

Comment BRECK for the links to these 5-night stays where booking direct on Savvy beats Airbnb by $1,074 to $4,065. Every one of these is peak season, which is exactly when the gap is widest.

🎿 Breck runs five peaks and 187 trails, with the highest chairlift in North America at 12,840 feet. Ullr Fest takes Main Street December 17 to 19, with a parade and an attempt on the longest shotski record. The International Snow Sculpture Championships run January 23 to February 2, free to walk through and best at night when the sculptures are lit.

You will want the right car. Colorado's traction law runs September through May, and several of these homes sit on roads that expect four-wheel drive.

Same property. Same dates. No markup saves you thousands on Savvy. If you are the one who plans everything, this is your month. Quotes pulled for 5-night stays in late January and February.

"We didn't have any money, but we were rich in things money can't buy."

Dolly said that about growing up in a one-room cabin in the Smoky Mountains, as one of twelve kids. A childhood with more love in it than money.

She spent her life handing that priceless feeling back to the rest of us. With songs the whole world knew the words to. Making a way for millions of kids to have access to free books. And cherishing a hometown in the Tennessee mountains she put on the map and never stopped being proud of.

She came from almost nothing and made sure the rest of us felt like we belonged somewhere.

Thank you, Dolly.
