I just discovered a treasure trove of old family photos from my mother’s side of the family that I had never seen before. As I flipped through them, I found myself filled with questions: Who were they then? Where are they now? Was this a significant moment or just an everyday snapshot? These are the same questions I ask when photographing weddings or family portraits. Each image tells a story beyond what’s on the surface—it’s the context, the setting, the attire, the occasion, and the overall mood that breathe life into these moments. My goal with each family that I have the pleasure to work with is to make sure that I capture each moment in a way that the story can be told from generation to generation.
