Rock on Elizabeth Kenney!
We were pleased to hear from Elizabeth Kenney, LMSW, MSW ’19, co-founder of the start-up Dwellability, an online housing platform for people with disabilities (PWD) that enables them to connect around sharing and finding housing and is designed to meet their unique needs. She shared that she will be a featured panelist at Work Wider’s free seminar this Thursday on “Getting Beyond Compliance & Building Inclusive Cultures that Battle Ableism.”
Elizabeth cited many ways in which NYU Silver helped prepare her for this work. “The Advanced Social Work Policy: Disability class with professor Joseph LoGuidice was super helpful in this specific area as were panel discussions at various times that focused on experiences of people with disabilities," she said. “I also participated in some workshops at NYU’s Leslie Elab, which were helpful with strategic business development and research methods. NYU Silver staff have always been encouraging with the Dwellability project, which started while I was at Silver, especially Dean O'Mealley and Dean Martin."
