JHU Nichols House | Baltimore, MD | 2011

The JHU Nichols House on the Homewood campus in North Baltimore is home to the university President. Our landscape lighting design approach sought to enhance the historic gardens around the site. We also provided outdoor sculpture lighting, introduced higher light levels for security lighting, and replaced outdated lighting technology with long-life, energy-efficient LED sources.

Walters Art Museum Hackerman House | Baltimore, MD | 2018

This historic three-story Greek Revival mansion houses an exhibition of the Walters Art Museum’s international ceramics collection. The building features a grand spiral staircase capped by an elliptical Tiffany skylight and decorative ceilings with intricate wood carvings and molding designs. Our lighting design approach focused on adhering to a tight budget, integrating lighting with the existing architecture, and balancing Maryland Historical Trust requirements with the flexible lighting needs of a modern art gallery. Our work on this project included updating the lighting control system and focusing the lighting after installation. We also upgraded the lighting technology and wiring in the grand Baccarat-style chandeliers.
