25 Years Later. We Will Never Forget.
Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced an unimaginable terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. 2,977 lives were lost. 2,753 in New York, 184 at the Pentagon and 40 courageous passengers and crew aboard Flight 93. Families were forever changed. First responders ran toward danger while others fled to safety. Ordinary people performed extraordinary acts of courageโincluding the passengers and crew of Flight 93, whose bravery and sacrifice prevented an even greater tragedy.
We remember the firefighters, police officers and emergency personnel who answered the call. We remember the construction workers, tradespeople, volunteers and countless others who came together in the days, weeks and months that followed.
And above all, we remember those who never came home.
September 11 is part of the history of H.O. Penn as it is for so many New York families and businesses. Our employees from NY and CT were among the thousands who responded in the aftermath, providing equipment, emergency power and support wherever it was needed. Some worked around the clock and slept in their service trucks rather than leave the work behind.
Today is about remembering what happened, honoring those we lost, and ensuring that the generations that follow understand the courage, sacrifice and humanity we witnessed in the face of unimaginable loss.
At H.O. Penn, we will continue to share that responsibility with our employees and our community:
Remember the lives.
Remember the courage.
Remember the sacrifice.
Never forget.
