The Lamer East Side

The Lamer East Side Remember when the LES was affordable and cool? When NYC was? Share pix, articles & what not here of a bygone era, before the onslaught of Lamene$$ ensued. R.I.P.

Remember when the LES was cool? When it was AFFORDABLE? When NYC was for that matter? I still live on the LES but it's now one Godawful Luxury Hotel Frat House thanks to Bloomberg, a Dizzyland Resort for wealthy Bridge & Tunnel Upper East/West Siders, tourists and wannabes on weekends AND weekdays. Todays LES makes the 90's blech of Bleecker St. look cool in comparison, as ALL originality has been

driven out. Hell, the Velvets are rolling in their graves alongside George Burns, & they're not (all) even dead yet (RIP Sterling and Lou). I mean Max Fish was forced to move, and (fill in the blank) is gone, and (yada yada) has left an so on and so on and so on... need I say more? There goes the neighborhood as they say, and perhaps the only area that was truly left of when NYC rocked. As for NYC as a whole? Yup. the whole stinkin' lot now... stinks. So, what are we doing here? Well, I don't know about you, but this here page is a place to share pix, articles, remembrances, what have you of a bygone era... when the Lower East Side, and NYC as a whole, wasn't so friggin' lame. Before the onslaught of Lamene$$ ensued there was a sublime, affordable cool called the Lower East Side in New York City. Let's remember that here & call out the crap that's replaced it.
