Congrats to Jack Barksdale on his beautiful song, the title track “Battleground” off the upcoming EP. The song featuring Julian Taylor is out TODAY!

Jack weaponizes his songwriting against a brokem system.

We premiered the video yesterday with MAGNET Magazine for a nice first look/listen!

The video was filmed in Memphis.

Lots of exciting things in works.

Here we are at Americana Music Association in Nashville and can feel his presence. Jack will be back next year.

SmartURL in bio.

EP is out everywhere on Oct 16th.

Thank you CBC New Brunswick and Mark Leger for including my insights in this fabulous interview with Apryll Aileen who I’ve known and become good friends with for over a decade.

It’s been incredible to witness her journey from afar. I’ve enjoyed watching her growth and development as an artist. Her songwriting is prolific and her voice, angelic.

We met in the Maritimes in Miramichi. Quite a magical place. Then brought her to Mondo.NYC and a couple other times to NY. Then would bump into her in Toronto at CMW, and in Austin at SXSW.

So excited for her next chapter as she explores and sets foot in Nashville to continue expanding her songwriting, collaborations and recording/performing endeavours.

I get to see her in Nashville in a few days at Americana Music Association and also excited to introduce her to a client I’m working with called Jesse Lynn Madera - Ummm maybe there’s a cowrite here too.

Apryll and Nashville sounds very promising.

A new chapter begins.

Ok. I remember this day fondly. I just wrapped a photo shoot in Texas and I was utterly shattered. It’s a lot of working ‘working the camera’ so apparently, I took a little nap and my photographer friend did the sneaky thing and captured me in the moment. Or hour more like it.

This lineup is Criminal! 🎵🎤🎸 Pun intended.

I can honestly say, I have no clue who most these artists are, but because it’s one of the dopest retail shops on the planet… You just gotta trust🤣😍😍.

But seriously though, give credit where credit’s due. 35 Years Young. Hellz Yez!! Happy Birthday to Criminal Records and Eric Levin and rest of his staff. He’s a legend and it’s Epic they’ve stayed around this long and thrived. I remember vividly to the day they first opened. Aug 14th, 1991. I had just recently moved to Atlanta and before moving to NYC. Also, my Dad’s Birthday R.I.P.

So I am beyond excited for this celebration and festivities on Saturday, Aug 15 in Little Five Points where it all began. Noon till 9pm. And FREE.

I’m giving shine to the artists I do know. Buddy malia dishon 💫 Five Eight Keypsiia👄 The Yum Yum Tree West End Motel James Hall who now performs with Flap. And I can’t wait to discover the rest.

Youza!
