April: Camp Dovewood: Tomorrow is Easter! Jesus lived on earth each day setting an example for each of us : how to love, forgive, encourage and how to obtain an everlasting life with Him and our Father, God. Now, that is awesome! I must say , Easter, Christmas and camp are my three most favorite times of the year!
If you have not yet signed up for camp, do it today. Cabin, pool, horses, trails, and counselors are looking great.
I have planted 250 caladiums and have 50 more to plant that will pop up and decorate all over the camp in June and July : pool area, entrance, art area, chapel, dining hall , Cottage, Chateau , Loft and the Faith Adventure building.
Here is a list of the Counselors for this summer. I am still waiting to hear from Avery Beth , Mia, Olivia and Chloe Vought. First Session: Jordan Horne, Lydia Gunter, Alyssa Kahler, Sarah Smart, Brynn Eckerson, Kate Carlson, Emma Teitel, Emma Horne

From Me to You: A couple of weeks ago I took my brother, Rick and his wife , Aase to Cumberland Island for their birthdays. We went by way of a Ferry Boat to see the largest , most unique Island in Georgia: Lucy and Joseph Carnegie built a 59 room mansion on the island.. yes, his brother was Andrew that you know because of Carnegie Hall. On the island are 200 wild and beautiful horses, miles of trails and a terrific beach. All three of us had a great birthday picnic, hiked 7 miles, saw 20 horses of all colors and sizes. Whew, I should not have brought so much in my backpack. If you want to have a fun family day, check it out.
Thoughts: Only you can be you. God created you wonderfully complex, special and like no other. You are unique and can do things no one else can do . God created you to make a difference. Everyone has a special contribution. Eph. 2:10 We are God's masterpiece. He created us in Christ Jesus so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. You have a specific purpose in life , a special assignment from God that only you can accomplish. Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever yo do and he will establish your plans . Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight. As you trust God more and continue to release your life to Him, He will reveal what He has for you. Neat, right!
Love you lots and see you soon, Mrs.Richmond

March 2026 Camp Dovewood Newsletter: I am beyond excited about camp this summer! We have a new air-conditioned cabin, two new awesome Rocky Mountain gaited horses that Jill Roberts Henry donated and a pool with a new marcite plaster bottom. Many will remember Jill as she was an awesome camper, amazing rider and wonderful Sr. Counselor. Now Jill is a doctor who has delivered over 10,000 babies. What a ministry! These two beautiful Rocky Mountain gaited horses will be loved and ridden by countless young ladies who will fall in love with them. On that note, if you know of anyone that would like to donate a very gentle horse for camp, we need one more very gentle horse that loves children and enjoyed girls grooming, riding and bathing them. We need a horse that will help girls fall in love with riding, build strong work ethics , confidence , responsibility and of course, develop the love and passion to ride.

Ready to hear about a great answer to prayer? Yesterday my brother went to the ER. He could not eat and was in a lot of pain. I called my Bible study from church and my prayer & recent Bible study group to pray with me for my brother. Hours Later, the greatest physician of all ( our Lord) walked into my brother's ER room .. That same day the doctors viewed the CT scan , gave my brother a bunch of antibiotics and sent him home. Prayer is key and miracles happen.

Here are a few fun quotes: The most precious resource we all have is time. "A woman is like a tea bag, you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water." Eleanor Roosevelt " If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader". Dolly Parton
"When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it." Henry Ford.
See you soon. Let me know what you are doing. Remember, writing letters is almost a lost art. You should write me a letter.
Love,
Mrs. Richmond

From Me To You: I have been teaching a Lady's Bible Study and have really enjoyed it . Have you ever thought about being a sheep? Years ago I was in New Zealand and there were hundreds of sheep. Some people said sheep were not very intelligent. and are very dependent creatures. Well, the more I read about sheep in the Bible , the more I decided I might like to be more like a sheep. The shepherd ( the Lord) watches over his sheep knowing they need protection, direction and food. In Ps. 23 : 1-6, The Lord is my shepherd , I shall not want, He lets me rest in green meadows, leads me beside still waters, guidance, restored strength, guides me along right paths bringing honor to his name, even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid for the Lord is close beside me . The shepherd will even go after one sheep. The Greek word for shepherd is pastor. He too looks after his flock, cares for our needs, prays for us and encourages our walk with God.
I thought about the word church. It is a place where we can fellowship with other Christians , a place to grow in our faith, prayer life and friendship with other believers. If we are going through a storm , someone else at our small church group may have gone through a similar storm and can help us , Each of us will be given opportunities to be a listener to those struggling and we might be able to relate to their needs. We all need prayer, someone to listen to us and even at the right minute offer a prayer and encourage-ment.
Let me know what you have been doing, if I have missed your birthday or sharing some things about you . Much love always, Mrs.Richmond.

January Newsletter 2026: This will be an incredible year. I am beyond excited about camp this summer and all that God is doing in and through so many of you.
Let me share I am thankful for so many that have sent in donations to help us with camp. We are in the process of air-conditioning one of the outside cabins for next summer, working on the pool and getting the most wonderful group of counselors signed up to minister with me and you this summer. Girls are already signing up for all the four sessions and even bringing their friends. You can combine the 2nd and 3rd session or the 3rd and 4th sessions for the two week rate if you like.
Zoe has been riding Star, Shekinah, Dawn, Rapha, Beauty, Rhema, Josie, Big Girl, Zoe ( the horse) Magnolia, Lady, Princess, Patches, Autumn, Patience, Blaze, and soon many more. If you know of anyone that would like to sell or donate a very gentle horse to Dovewood, let me know. We need two more gentle horses.
We are happy to let you know next August Lady Bug is going to have a foal so be thinking of Bible filled names that would be perfect for her.
My son Austin has a great job as the Human Resource Manager at the Lake City Hospital. I know that God will use him daily to bless lives and enhance the hospital. Jacob Richmond has been working to keep the grounds looking beyond terrific.
Marshall Combs has been traveling throughout Florida helping churches with their praise and worship songs. He and his wife Debbie are coming back to do our Christian concerts again this summer. Robin McMullen who has been one of our guest speakers has written four books that we will be able to use this summer. Lucky Boren is also a gifted writer and will be bringing her book for us this summer too. Zoe Richmond will be going on a mission trip to the Bahamas. Brielle Richmond and Mrs. Richmond went hiking on Cumberland Island and got a chance to see 12 of the 200 wild ponies on the Island. Sarah Smart is a true blessing to Bayshore Christian school teaching Middle School and also coaching volleyball. Mrs. Richmond is teaching a weekly lady's Bible study on the "Battle is the Lords".
Let me know what you are doing and how God is using you to encourage others in their walk with the Lord.
Happy Birthday January: Mackenzie McKeown 2nd, Angel Gerding 5th, Ella Updike 8th, Catherine Payne 11th, Addi Godwin 12th, Ella Janosek 13th, Aaliyah Brown 14th, Rylee Weems 16th, Savannah Galati 16th Jerzie Turner and Kelsey Wood 17th, Evelyn D'Angelo 18th, Alli V***a , Drew Banner 19th, Anna Polf 21st, Sofia Santana 23rd, Jewel Miller 25th, Macy Foreman 26th, Brooklyn Berning27th Emma Foreman 30th, Bry Mullins 31st Let me know if I missed your birthday.
From me to You: I love the story about King Jehoshaphat. ( 2nd Chronicles 20) describes how a vast army threatened Judah, Jehoshaphat prayed, fasted and appointed singers to praise God as God told him to go ahead, dress for battle and yes, I will go with you and wow, did God fight the battle for Jehoshaphat!!!. They were really outnumbered but as the appointed singers praised God with song, the three other large armies got confused and killed one another. The battle was won, God will also help us. Yes, he wants us to also wear a full armor each day . He is all powerful and wants us to call him Abba, which means Father. We are His children.
Much love always. See you soon, Mrs. Richmond

December Camp Dovewood Newsletter 2025: This time of year radiates thoughts of Christmas, time off from school, families getting together and celebrating Jesus's birthday.
Usually we tend to think what we what for Christmas or what we should give to our family or friends. December 25th is not my birthday. I need to remember what can I give Jesus? Nothing at the stores. Maybe I could give Christ my time, prayers for my family and those facing hard times. Maybe I could give Jesus quiet time of worship, love , prayers and time sharing my heart treating Jesus with tons of worth and realize good friends are so valuable. Family is important too! We need to let them know they are very important.
I want to give Jesus my life, dedicate my time and talent to Him. I want to make more time for the WORD, and listen with my heart.
Why is it at Christmas we think material presents are enough? So many gifts are really expensive and most people just really want to be appreciated. We all want someone to listen to us, say thank you and let us feel as though we have worth. Thank you notes are almost a lost art. People get too busy to thank or appreciate what someone has done for us. Think about the many things the Lord has done . We also get too busy to thank Him.
Let me know what each of you are doing. Madison Meurot just passed her test to be a licensed therapist. She now has two master's degrees and working daily ministering with ladies that have been abused or going through trauma.
If you have not read Lucky Boren's book that she wrote and has been published, you are in for a treat. The name of her book is "Toby Saves the Night". It is wonderful!!! In fact, Lucky is going to use it this summer for our great books class.
Zoe Richmond is taking a course next week outside of Ocala in Equine Holistic Podiatry ( about horses' hooves). Later she will help Stirrups N Strides at the Therapeutic Riding Center with some of their horses.
Brielle Richmond is going with me and her mom to Cumberland Island in St. Mary's Georgia to see the wild ponies and walk down the beach after a ferry boat trip to the Island.
Tell me what each of you are doing this December. Soon you will be getting the Camp Dovewood 2026 Calendar with pictures from last summer. If you turn in your camp registration form in December or January you will get a 5% discount on your camp fee. If you get two of your friends to come to camp this summer, you will get a $50.00 coupon to spend at the camp store. If you get three of your friends to come to camp, you get $250.00 off your camp fee and if you get 5 girls to come , you get 50% off the camp fee. Neat, right!
My son got an awesome job as the HR guy at the Lake City Hospital . God continues to open and close doors for His kids.
Katie Szewczyk is going on a trail ride with me this week which will be fun. God totally healed my horse's eye! Angel is loving our trails together.
Nina Bridger competed last weekend in the horse vaulting division at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala. Nina, I am so proud of you. The pictures your mom sent me are amazing.
