🚔 SEATBELTS, EVERYONE! 🚔

The Ocean Isle Beach Police Department loves seeing families enjoy the island while riding around on LSV’s (golfcarts). But when it comes to safety, everyone, especially our youngest passengers needs to be properly seated and buckled up.

Children should never be squeezed between adults or riding on someone’s lap. After all, they wouldn’t ride that way in a car, and they shouldn’t ride that way in a LSV either.

‼️North Carolina child restraint laws still apply:
• Children 8 years old or younger OR weighing less than 80 pounds must be secured in an appropriate child restraint system.
• Every occupant should have their own seat and seatbelt.

Our officers want everyone to have a fun and safe time on the island, and that starts with making sure all passengers are properly restrained before hitting the road. 💙 Buckle up!!!

DID YOU KNOW?? Our carts will be delivered by 3:00PM on Saturday of arrival, giving you plenty of time to cruise the coast at the start of your vacation. AND our carts will be delivered to all clients with a full charge!

Summer is here, and the island is starting to get busy with families and friends making memories together.
As you enjoy your time on the island, the Ocean Isle Beach Police Department would like to remind everyone of our local noise ordinance. We want everyone to enjoy the island safely while also being mindful of others.

🔊 Amplified sound from any device is permitted only between the hours of 7:30 AM and 10:00 PM. Outside of these hours, excessive noise disturbances may result in penalties. Per town ordinance "Any sound or combination of sounds which, because of volume or quality, tends to disturb reasonable persons of normal sensitivity or to interfere with normal human activity" (sec22-71).

🚧 Construction activity is permitted only between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

This ordinance includes,
• Weddings / Party Houses
• Amplified music in commercial establishments
• Loud vehicles, mechanical, and exhaust-related
• Prolonged noise by pets
• The use of horns or ongoing sirens

⚠️ Penalty for Violation:
First Offense: Civil fine of $1,000
Second Offense: Civil fine of $1,200
Failure to pay fines may result in further penalties.
