How often does “everything” about a new restaurant impress you? We’re talking staff, drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and ambiance. Well, it happened tonight. And we truly can’t wait to return.
If Bar-Celona was on Palafox Street, there’d be a line waiting for a table and their prices would be double.
My house martini was absolutely on target and everything after it was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious: The Gigi, flatbread with caramelized onions, goat cheese, figs and more; Croquetas de Pollo, bechemel and chicken; Beef & Lamb Gyro; Shrimp Scampi and toasted coconut flan.
I’ve lived in the Pensacola region for 12 years and have NEVER been served a properly prepared shrimp scampi dinner. Not once. Not even close. Until tonight at Bar-Celona. Food temperature, garlic-butter sauce, angel hair pasta, flavor-filled shrimp were all spot-on.
We will be definitely back.
