It’s disheartening to see the destruction currently taking place in Big Bend National Park. Places with untouched, pristine beauty like our national parks are becoming increasingly rare, which is why they were created to be protected in the first place.

Seeing this happen in real time puts some scary thoughts in my head about the future of these sacred places.

To help spread awareness, I’m sharing some of my favorite photos I’ve taken in Big Bend. Some of these views may never be able to be replicated because of the damage that has already been done.

I hope we continue to protect these places for generations to come.

Four Pass Loop – Day 2 🏔️

I thought our first campsite beneath the waterfall couldn’t be beat, but then we found our campsite for night two…

This was the perfect place to rest after another long 10.4-mile day with 3,200 feet of elevation gain.

We saw a lot more wildlife on day two and had even more expansive mountain views. Without a doubt, this was my favorite day on the trail.

Four Pass Loop – Day 1 🏔️

A couple of months ago, my longtime backpacking buddy Carl and I loaded up our packs and set out on the Four Pass Loop—a roughly 30-mile trail near Aspen, Colorado that crosses four mountain passes, each sitting around 12,500 feet.

On day one, we hiked 13 miles, climbed over 4,000 feet of elevation, and crossed the first two passes. We wrapped up the day by setting up camp beneath this massive, beautiful waterfall. Not a bad place to call home for the night.

I knew before I began planning my trip to Northern Italy that this was one of the photos I had to come home with. The Church of San Giovanni, built in 1744, sitting beneath the towering Dolomites is even better in person than it is in photos. So happy to have seen this and finally share it!

This past November I spent 2 weeks road tripping through central and northern Italy. Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some photos from my adventures. These photos are from the Colosseum which had a strange amount of birds hanging out that caught my eye. 🇮🇹
