My first guests of the season arrive tomorrow.. They will be here for 3 nights and to enjoy the Solar Eclipse.. Everything is shoveled out as best as I could get it.. I was told they are bringing their own sleeping bags, so, let’s all send them some warm vibes as I do not think the snow is going anywhere during their stay..

Two days after that my second guests arrive..

I’ve left them with one candle, fresh batteries in the string lights and offered them use of my propane grill, propane cook stove and propane heater..

It’s also safe to say that this little cutie is in desperate need of a fresh paint job, new polycarb panels (as the lifespan of 3 years has finally happened) & flooring.. When the weather provides, she will get a much needed upgrade..

Side note: several of you think I live in this cabin year round.. If it were 10x’s the size, I would.. It’s just a source of income for me & I am happy to share a piece of my peace with the outside world..

And just like that, my wee-little A-frame is ready for some off-grid enthusiasts to venture up from the city.. The first guests of the season are coming up from Boston!

I’m going to sit right here looking at the amazing transformation and give my hands a break.. The replacement door is just going to have to wait until after my guests check out.. Wowza, folks! What another gorgeous day here in Maine!

Being a host has humbled me in so many ways.. I don’t just go into the A-frame to clean it right away for the next guest.. Instead: I sit and read about the experience(s) my previous guest(s) had..

You never really know the impact you can have on people & I am forever grateful to read words like this..

My heart is full.. thank you for the Polaroid, chicka! & safe travels back to the Catskills!

I recently offered up my A-frame cabin as a “raffle item” - to host a 1-night stay - to raise money for Wilderness Miracles Wildlife Rehab & S**o River Wildlife Center for the care of wild animals (via Heartstone Farm) as well as offsetting costs for the transportation of injured or orphaned wildlife for both Maine Wildlife Transport - MWT & Critter Guy Adc..
