Got a chance to visit our favorite apple orchard today. We’ve visited the same small family owned and run orchard every year for the last six years. I don’t have pictures going back that far since my old phone went for a swim in the lake but I do have some. If there’s ever a year you need to get out and support a local this is the year. 50% of their harvest was affected by the frost we had in May. Despite that we had no trouble filling two big bags under 20min. So, with that said please go out and visit our friends at Orr-Chards. I promise you will love it!!!

We're hearing many stories from vineyard managers and winery owners about the devastating frost that damaged massive amounts of vines this week. It's a heartbreaking truth and risk of working in agriculture in the Finger Lakes that the weather can turn on you in a minute and change the entire harvest.

So now is a great time to join that wine club, buy that case of dry Riesling, visit a tasting room (or six), and let our local wineries know that we have their backs through this tough time. This industry has created jobs galore, has had huge positive impact on our local economy and has made the quality of life in the Finger Lakes what it is.

And hey, last year's harvest was also low yielding but the quality of the wines is expected to be off-the-charts delicious. So go check out some Finger Lakes wines and give these hardworking folks the boost they just might be needing. Sunday's weather looks perfect for a drive around the lakes!
