Honey Bear Hollow Campground

Ladies and gentlemen, we wanted to type up a brief post about some changes we are making here at the campground.

As you know, we bought the campground in May 2023, and we enjoy running it. We've learned a lot, and still have a lot left to learn. We enjoyed working with each and every one of you who participated in this endeavor of ours.

After considerable thought and deliberation, however, we have decided to end the long-running traditional namesake known as Honey Bear Hollow Campground. We made this decision the last week of 2023, after having tallied up all the numbers for the season.

We love owning the campground, and intend to continue operating it as such..... just not in the way most of you are familiar.

While we are NOT closing the campground, we are renaming it and re-branding. We are moving away from the family-style atmosphere of the campground and to one of an all-adult nature.

Since we created the name Misthaven Resort LLC early on, even before we bought Honey Bear, we decided to re-brand under that moniker and retire "Honey Bear Hollow Campground". We plan to call the disc golf course the Honey Bear Hollow Disc Golf Course to carry on the naming tradition in that sense.

We are well aware that this won't go over too well with some. For those, we do offer our apologies. It's worth mentioning, however, that over the course of the campground's existence, it's gone through several modifications and iterations: It's gone through KOA, Yogi Bear and, until very recently, as its more commonly-known moniker, Honey Bear Hollow.

Come April 1, 2024, we will re-open as Misthaven Resort, catering to the LGBTQ+ crowd.

Since the golf course is on the campground itself, this also means that the disc golf course is 18+ as well. The course and pro shop will STILL remain open to the 18-and-over general public. We will still continue to sell discs and gear as usual.

We turned the flag pole into a giant Christmas tree.

We are constantly working on updates to the campground. Over the next few months, things are going to start looking different!

Also don't forget we still have a few 2023 GYROpalooza boxes left! Look at how well they fit under the tree! Perfect Christmas gift for that disc golfer in your life!

Good news and bad news!!

Good news: We finally got our MVP order.
Bad news: See date in photo!

More good news: We will be having a Black Friday sale this weekend! On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday purchase a 2023 GYROpalooza Box and get 20% off select items in the shop! (Discounts will not apply to 2023 new release items.)

We have a total of 24 boxes, and they will be limited to 1 per person.

Speaking of the shop, Jesse has been working his fingers off recording inventory, entering it into our new system, barcoding it, and ordering inventory.

In the past few months, we have reorganized the store, and will continue to make the "flow" better.

We added 8 more ft of wall space, and we are getting ready to add 4 more feet of disc space to that same wall by relocating that camping gear in the corner.

All of the boxes that WERE on the center glass display are GONE. Those discs will have their own racks on the walls!

We are awaiting our MVP shipment which will include the new releases, board games, and more. We should be receiving this order sometime this month.

Don't forget, we now sell gift cards! They can be loaded with any amount, and can be used on any item in the store. Including golf admission!

November already?? Where has the year gone?

We wanted to remind our campers and golfers that rifle season is November 18th - December 3.

During that time frame, we will be TEMPORARILY closing the course.

The course will reopen on Monday December 4th.

The shop will remain open during that time for all of your disc golf needs!

Have a camper? All activities are included with a reservation!

"Walk-in" admission for all activities is $10 per person. Golf only is $7.

No admission after 6pm, so please plan accordingly.

All activities are weather permitting.

Holes 19-26 will have glow sticks on them for the kiddos to see!

Here is the tentative schedule for Honey Scare Hollow Weekend.

On Saturday, please plan accordingly. If you need to leave between the 4:30 and 8pm, please park in the overflow or golf parking lots. We will not allow any vehicles past the main building.
