Chamounix Mansion Hostel- HI-Philadelphia Chamounix Mansion is part of Hostelling International. We offer overnight accommodations for individuals and groups, at a modest fee.

Chamounix Mansion is in its fiftieth year as a youth hostel. We are a National Historic Landmark, the building dates from the late 18th century, and remains much as it looked during the Civil War. Both individual travelers and groups love the bucolic atmosphere of our hostel, and seek us out for a respite from city life. The fee includes a bed or bunk in a dormitory style setting, free linen, free towel, free DIY pancakes, free coffee and tea, free WIFI, and the fun Chamounix staff to enlighten you to the coolest places in Philly. Just over two miles to the Art Museum, some of our guests like to take a run along River Drive and run those Art Museum steps like ROCKY. Or borrow one of our bikes for the day. There's walking trails and biking trails easily accessed from our front door. Check our website for booking info!

Take the 38 Bus toward the Wissahickon Transportation Center. Get off bus at Ford and Cranston. Walk in the same direction as bus was travelling, enter Fairmount Park, go through stone tunnel. At end of tunnel, there's a stop sign. Turn left at stop sign, and walk to end of road. We are in cul-de-sac at end of Chamounix Drive. Total walk is exactly 1 mile.

Chamounix Mansion has been a youth hostel in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, since the early 1960’s thanks to the tireless work of The Friends of Chamounix Mansion. We are a National Historic Landmark, the building dates from the late 18th century, and remains much as it looked during the Civil War. Both individual travelers and groups love the bucolic atmosphere of our hostel, and seek us out for a respite from city life. We a unique experience available no where else in Philadelphia as our guests are enchanted by the history of Chamounix and its historic grounds.

Our affordable rates: $22 for HI members or ISIC card holders, $25 for non-members, attract those who've enjoyed the hostel experience. The fee includes a bunk in a dormitory style setting, free linen, free towel, free DIY pancakes, free coffee and tea, free WIFI, and the fun Chamounix staff to enlighten you to the coolest places in Philly.
