The Christmas Village includes over 150 lighted porcelain houses in a late 19th-century setting including a city, farmland, amusement park, ski mountain resort, New England country side and seaport and a Swiss village. The 300 square-foot display includes working trains and animation to thrill the Christmas child in all of us. History:
My grandson Andy Bailey and I started our village in 1990 (An
dy was 5) by buying a starter set of 4 houses and a church for about $20.00. We had to start setting up the tree in October in order to have all the trains and village finished by Christmas - - and then we didn't want to take it down . . . After all she wanted her dining room back. So in 1998 we moved to the basement of my daughter Karen's house in West Chester, PA where she generously gave us a room in her basement. Then my daughter re-married in 1999 and we had to move again! This time I took my wife's advice and rented a room in the basement of the farmhouse/community center where our townhouse is located in Westridge Estates. The room was the first floor of a small stone house where John Cornett's family lived in the early 1800's and on top of which his son Samuel built the present 10 bedroom Victorian farmhouse. We started the move in July 1999 and finished just in time for Christmas! Fun Facts:

The Christmas Village is located at 970 Township Line Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460 in the basement of the 'farmhouse'. In Phoenixville (at McDonald's) from intersection of Routes 113 and 23 (Nutt Road) go west on Route 23, (pass K-Mart on right) cross French Creek bridge and make immediate first right turn at the traffic light onto Township Line Rd. Go up the hill about 300 yards and make first right turn into Westridge Estates Development - turn left into parking lot on right side of the Victorian Farmhouse pictured here (Westridge Office). From Baltimore, MD:
Baltimore take I-95 north, at exit 8 take route US 202 north to PA-29 north and at Phoenixville turn left onto route 23 (Nutt Rd) to McDonalds (on the right where 113 turns left). From Philadelphia:
Take Schuylkill Expressway (I-76), at exit 328/327, turn right onto ramp (US-202 / West Chester / Mall Blvd.), turn right and right again onto route 23 west (Gulph Rd.) From Harrisburg, PA:
Take PA Turnpike east to ramp 312 (Downingtown exit), go south on Route 100 and turn left onto SR-113 and go west on SR-113 to Phoenixville and turn left on route 23 (west) at McDonald’s. From New York City:
New Jersey Turnpike to PA Turnpike (I-276), at Valley Forge Interchange (I76 / I-476 / US-202) take ramp 326 onto I-76 immediately take exit 327 ramp onto SR-363 (N. Gulph Rd) and keep straight onto SR-23 to Phoenixville. From Reading, PA:
