Bits & Facts with NCHJA - Did you know?

Under USEF Equitation and Hunter/Jumper rules, mounted exhibitors are not permitted to wear or carry electronic communication devices while actively competing in the ring.

This includes:
Cell phones, AirPods, earbuds, and headsets, smart communication devices, and other electronic communication equipment

Exceptions may apply for prescribed hearing aids or specific medical conditions with prior approval from the show steward.

NCHJA competitions abide by USEF rules, and we encourage all exhibitors, trainers, and parents to stay familiar with current rules & regulations before heading to the show ring.

The top 15 riders in each division will receive an invitation to compete at the NCHJA Medal Finals held this year in Tryon. Medal Finals winners receive $1,000!

The NCHJA Annual Show is coming to Tryon International for 2026! 💫 This event, hosted June 24–28, marks the first time the NCHJA’s premier annual competition will be held in the North Carolina Foothills.

Competition highlights for the week include:
🔹 NCHJA Medal Finals (with each finals winner receiving a $1,000 educational grant!)
🔹 $10,000 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive South Regional Championship
🔹 $5,000 USHJA National Open Hunter Derby
🔹 $5,000 USHJA National Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby
🔹 $2,500 USHJA Pony Hunter Derby
