Created some great memories all day on Friday! We started at the 2026 Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail spring symposium and plant sale where Dr. Jaap de Roode from Emory University taught us more about the Monarch Butterflies. We learned about raised beds from Brandon Gross of South GA Tech. College, and Ashley Frasca of WSB's "Green and Growing" deconstructed digging in the dirt. We also heard from several other amazing speakers who taught about pollinators, native plants, and floral arrangement. Thank you Annette Wise for all you did to make this happen! Afterward, we rode up to the Plains Welcome Center to participate in a dedication ceremony hosted by the Magnolia District of the Garden Clubs of Georgia. A historical marker was dedicated to Rosalynn Carter and placed in the gorgeous butterfly garden at the welcome center. When you can come together and learn about nature's beauty and how to care for it, plus celebrate the past and an amazing lady - it is a very good day! Thank you to all who made this special day happen!
