I love that a picture me won a photo contest put on by Reserve America.

This is what Dianalee wrote on a page that announced that she won that photo contest. I submitted about 15 photos and this one won! It’s our absolute favorite state park, and this trip was the first time I had ever been there and Darnell was showing me around. There is a whole write up in the winning article (check it out!!) about me and Victor’s story as campers, and Darnell’s part in it as our friend and the person who married us!! Darnell & I got to submit a video that was seen by all 50 State Park directors at the meeting where they announced the winning photo! I am super excited, because everyone knows how much I love taking pictures! It finally paid off 😂🩵

Something so simple gives me a deep connection to nature. I set up camp and plant my feet in the here and now. I become a listening post for the forest, every leaf a lesson in resilience and every trail is a reminder that courage grows one step at a time.
