Fishing is not slowing down at Calder Mountain Lodge! 🎣

The mornings are getting crisper, the air is getting cooler, but the fishing? Still hot.

We’ve had a few days where the silvers have been absolutely hammering—hard-charging fish, screaming reels, and plenty of action to keep everyone busy.

Summer may be winding down, but the fishing season isn’t finished yet. There are still plenty of fish to be caught in Southeast Alaska.

At Calder Mountain Lodge, our self-guided guests take the boats out themselves and go fishing.

They run the boat.
They find the structure.
They drop the bait.
They set the hook.

And when a monster halibut comes over the rail?

That fish is 100% theirs.

There’s just something about putting the boat in gear, setting the lines, and watching the rod tips while you cruise through some of the most incredible country in Southeast Alaska. 🌊🏔️

Kings, silvers, and the occasional surprise waiting to crush a bait—you never know what’s going to hit when you’re trolling these waters.

At Calder Mountain Lodge, the fishing is only half the experience. The views aren’t bad either. 😎🎣🇺🇸

We pulled an entire chicken leg out of a halibuts stomach. I don’t know what to tell you. It’s weird. The ocean is crazy.
