No plans. Just us.

The older I get, the less I care about packed schedules and perfectly planned days.

Give me a friend who can sit on the couch for hours.
A second cup of coffee.
A conversation that wanders.
A comfortable silence that doesn’t need filling.

Some of life’s best memories don’t come from big adventures.

They come from the people who make ordinary moments feel like home.

Tag the friend you’d happily do absolutely nothing with. 🤍

Couldn’t decide which quote I liked better, so you’re getting both. 😅

Swipe through and pick your favorite:

1️⃣ “Here’s to the friends who make ordinary days feel like adventures.”

2️⃣ “I can’t promise we’ll act our age this summer.”

I’m leaning one way, but now I’m curious… which one would you send to your best friend?

Because honestly, the best friendships are usually a little bit of both. The ones who turn a coffee run into a road trip, make you laugh until your stomach hurts, and somehow make the most ordinary Tuesday feel like a memory you’ll talk about for years.

Tell me your favorite: 1 or 2? ❤️

Some friendships aren’t built on having all the answers.

They’re built on showing up.
On staying.
On walking beside someone through the detours, the setbacks, the celebrations, and the ordinary days in between.

Life doesn’t always take us where we expected to go, but having the right person beside you can make even the hardest road feel a little lighter.

Tag the friend you’d walk any road with. ❤️

There are friends who know the polished version of you.
And then there are the friends who know the messy middle.

Summer always reminds me of those friendships.

The ones built over coffee on the porch, long conversations by the water, spontaneous drives, and quiet moments where simply being together is enough.

No pretending.
No overexplaining.
No pressure to be anything other than yourself.

Just comfort, trust, and the kind of friendship that feels like coming home.

If you have a friend like that, hold on tight. They’re one of life’s greatest gifts.

Some people leave you feeling like you need a nap after every conversation.

The right people do the opposite.

They remind you who you are.
They bring peace instead of pressure.
They don’t keep score.
They don’t make you earn your place in their lives.

You leave feeling lighter, steadier, and a little more like yourself.

Pay attention to the people who feel like home.

Sometimes the people we miss most aren’t the ones who fix the problem.

They’re the ones who sit beside us while we figure it out.

Lately I’ve found myself missing those slow days with a best friend, hot coffee in hand, talking through the same worries, frustrations, and hopes for the hundredth time. Not because they had the answers, but because they made the hard things feel a little lighter.

Life has felt heavy lately. And if I’m honest, I’d trade just about anything for one of those conversations right now.

Here’s to the friends who make hard seasons easier to carry, simply by showing up and listening.

Some seasons remind you that peace isn’t found in fixing everything.

Not every problem is yours to solve.
Not every reaction is yours to manage.
Not every misunderstanding needs another explanation.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a breath, step away from the noise, and give yourself room to rest.

A little less carrying.
A little more unwinding.

That’s enough for today.

Some places have a way of slowing everything down.

Maybe it’s the morning light spilling across the table, the quiet before the day begins, or the simple comfort of sitting still for a few extra minutes.

The world is always asking us to hurry. To move faster. Do more. Be more.

But every now and then, a small moment reminds us that peace isn’t found in keeping up. It’s found in paying attention.

A warm drink.
An open window.
A deep breath.
A few minutes that belong only to you.

Those little rituals matter.

For me, the feeling often reminds me of Italy. Not because of a destination, but because of the way life seems to linger there a little longer.

And while I can’t wake up in a Tuscan countryside every morning, brings a bit of that slower rhythm into my day. The scents, the simplicity, the organic real ingredients.

A reminder that caring for yourself doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s as simple as sitting down and staying a while.

Not every productive day looks productive.

Sometimes the most important things happen in the quiet.

A slower morning.
A chapter finished.
A deep breath.
A little space to think.

Not everything that matters can be measured by a checklist.

Some seasons are for building.
Some are for healing.
Some are simply for being.

And that’s enough.

The best things take a little time.

Which made this project with especially fun to illustrate.

I loved turning the brewing process into a story. Not just about kombucha, but about all those good things that quietly happen in the background while we’re busy living life.

You start the process.

Then you get back to work, tackle the laundry, run errands, make dinner, get the kids where they need to go…

And meanwhile, something good is brewing.

These illustrations follow the Bruusta process from start to finish (which is EASY, by the way!). Add the brew pack, let it ferment while life carries on, move it to the fridge, and then the best part… pouring yourself a glass straight from the tap.

There’s something oddly satisfying about it.

Maybe because it turns an ordinary moment into something a little more special.

Thanks to Bruusta for letting me tell that story through illustration. I had so much fun bringing each step to life.
