After numerous days of picking, cutting, and canning, I have been rewarding myself with a little evening fishing at Caney Acres. The commute to the water was rough…about a one minute walk.

They say pond fishing isn’t the same as fishing a big lake, but when your fist cast gets a hit, it’s hard to complain.

Pond or lake? It’s about 2 1/2 acres, roughly 25 ft deep at its deepest point, and definitely not a stock tank. Whatever the official name, I call it a pretty nice way to end the day.

Whether you’re chasing big fish at one of the nearby lakes or just wanting a relaxing evening with a fishing pole and a short walk to the water, Caney Acres offers both.

Pond or lake….make it what you want.

Spent the early part of the morning picking vegetables with a little help from the dogs? They love the tomato isles and claiming the little cherry type.

One of the best parts of a summer at Caney Acres is being able to share garden harvests with our guests when available.
