Thank you Stan for recommending Bittersweet Farm! Exactly what we were looking for! Loved the fireplace downstairs, romantic lighting and we really enjoyed the live band (Andy & Freddie)! Food looked and smelled so good that we will be going back for dinner! Perfect way to end a "Date Night" xo

Bittersweet Farm is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, go out for date night, or stop in after work for drinks and appetizers. There's always something happening at "the farm!"

On the fence with LePage but we would give it another visit just not on a "Date Night". Tables are so close that we felt like we were ease dropping, so we had no choice but to make friends with our neighbors. We both agreed that our quahog appetizer was a stuffing over kill and the clams got lost along the way. The Shrimp Mozambique, lacked presentation but the flavor was delish! Fish & Chips was a generous portion, very good. Friendly staff but the service could have been better. Even with a coupon it was still pricey! Next time we will check out their specials which includes a bottle of wine.

The other day someone asked me if I knew of a good place to run or just take a walk? I mentioned Massasoit & they said; "oh yeah, I forgot about that park!" Sometimes we don't see the tree's through the forest! Just on the southeast side of the city of Taunton/Lakeville line. It's a 3 mile walk from the front gate and back. A few minor uphill climbs to give you that little extra work out. We have hiked at Massasoit and the trails are easy to follow along the scarlet cranberry bogs. Lake Rico is a great place to canoe or kayak with easy access and plenty of ponds for fishing. There is construction at the park right now due to the completion of a new campground and work toward a full restoration within the park but not a distraction. I feel it is a safe place to visit but I always recomment the "buddy system" no matter where you decide to walk or have an early morning run!
Dogs Allowed

Head out on foot or by bike on Massasoit State Park's trails. This is an especially nice park to visit in the fall, when you can see the contrast of scarlet cranberry bogs and pine trees. There are also plenty of ponds in which to fish.

So hungry that we decided to stay close to home for dinner and we were not disappointed! From the time we walked in until we said good bye was top notch! Our waitress was very attentive and we could tell that the whole staff was well managed. Atmosphere was pleasant and very clean.
We shared the Wild West Shrimp Appetizer, same concept as the typical calamari with banana peppers but much better! Shrimps were plump and the portion was a meal for two! Jerry had the steak tips and I went for the porterhouse and both were cooked to perfection. The porterhouse was a bit expensive $28.00 and after trying Jerry's steak tips I think that will be my next choice $15.00.
Decided to indulge with the chocolate cake and it was way too much for the two of us to eat for $8.99, could have done without it! We did have a gift certificate but had we not our dinner for two with a couple of drinks came to $100 with tip. Would we go back?? You betcha😉
6:30 was a good time, plenty of seats but by 7:30 all the tables were full.

Have you ever gone out somewhere and said; "I really wish someone could see this place or wow what a great restaurant, the food was amazing"! Maybe you felt that it was over rated and too expensive, poor customer service or not worth a cover charge. How about a diamond in the rough, an awesome antique store, even your thoughts after a movie matinee or a tip on how to find a coupon?

Jer & I purchased these books for our family for Christmas and we all agree that it's well worth the $29.95. There are some restrictions but plenty of options available.
