Apparently we had a late-night visitor at Kodow Kabin Friday night. 🐻

Around 9:35, this guy wandered right across the porch, took a quick look around and continued on his way like he was just checking to see if we had any vacancies.

No knocking. No reservation. No pet fee. Typical bear behavior.

One of the things we love about living out here is that you truly never know who is going to show up on the Ring camera after dark. ❤️🏔️

One of our favorite stops near Kodow Kabin is The Chuckwagon Amish Good Store in Roberts.

It’s the kind of place you walk into planning to buy a loaf of bread… and somehow leave with fresh pastries, homemade jam, sandwich fixings, and a few things you didn’t know you needed.

One of our favorite ideas? Pick up a fresh pie (especially on Thursday), head back to the cabin, and enjoy dessert on the deck while the Montana sun goes down. Vacations don’t have to be complicated to be unforgettable.

🐾 The story behind the name Kodow Kabin…

Every place has a story.

Ours begins with two unforgettable dogs: Kodi and Shadow.

Kodow Kabin gets its name from these two loyal adventure buddies who spent years exploring Montana with us. While they’re no longer by our side, they helped shape everything we love about this little cabin and the memories made here.

That’s why we’re proudly dog friendly.

We know dogs aren’t “just pets.” They’re hiking partners, road trip companions, expert crumb inspectors, and family. Some of the best vacation memories include muddy paws, happy tails, and a tired pup snoring after a day in the mountains.

When you bring your dog to Kodow Kabin, you’re continuing a tradition that started with Kodi and Shadow many years ago.
