Here is a cute story. When I looked outside yesterday morning and saw the dense fog and heard of the forecast for rain, I decided that I wanted to go for an adventure hike in Huber Woods. Claypit Run to Valley View to Fox Hollow to Valley View and back to Claypit Run. My favorite interlocking trail loop filled with hills and down slopes. At the beginning of this woodland hike, I met a guy walking his dog, who kindly reminded me that it was going to rain soon. Guess he was looking out for the "old man". Ha. I thanked him and said I would be out soon. Sure enough it started drizzling, then gently raining. I was in my glory, thinking back on when I hiked the Catskill Mountains while at Union College and years later. Had the trails all to myself. Was thinking, yep I have the adventurous hiker of the day award all sewn up. Until around the corner came a couple hiking in the rain with two dogs AND A BABY that Dad had in a front pack. There goes my award. The baby knocked me out of first place..... HA.

Happy Memorial Day! Kathy and I are launching our 14th season of renting classic Catskill log cabins near the site of the Woodstock Music Festival in Bethel, New York. Attached are photos of some of the new additions. We found the cool log cabin birdhouse which we painted in matching colors at a craft outlet. Bought a new grill for Hemlock and thanks to Sullivan County landscapers Todd and Connie Vankeuren (845-807-2571) have a brand new looking deck after a great power washing. Bethel Woods is off to another incredible season. The recent Catskill Cuisine event with TV stars from the Food Network was a sold out success. It also brought in our first renters of the year for that weekend! Both cabins have been deep clleaned with fresh linens and more. Here is to a fun and healthy summer.

Shout out to White Lake craftsman Michael DeMondo who installed our new screen door on our Smallwood rental. These log sided cabins were built in the 1930s and are a challenge when finding replacement parts. Mike had to customized the screen door to fit the odd size opening. Mike also refinished the main door a few years ago. We are now ready for the new season. Thanks Mike!
