The three- and one-half mile bike path at Indian Lake is “this close” to Oak Island. You can see Oak Island behind John and his buddy Abby. Dock your boat and bike, stroll, or “get your jog on”. Sit at a memorial bench. Feel Indian Lake’s breezes. Listen. Listen to geese and gulls squawk and holler. Listen to frogs sing too. It’s a symphony! Feed baby ducks. This time of year, there are lots and lots of winged babies.
Smile. Go ahead. Smile. You deserve this.

This gorgeous and welcoming Indian Lake mural was designed and painted by Indian Lake Schools students. Their names--and the name of their supervising teacher--are written on the cattails painted in the mural's left hand corner.

The mural is displayed on the side of our community's "Homegrown Yoga" studio and was installed by a local builder free of charge. We love that. We love the community's collaboration with, and support of, our wonderful schools.

Come. Stay at Oak Island and see the mural for yourselves. It's gorgeous, as we've written...and even "gorgeous-er" is precious time spent at Indian Lake's Oak Island. That's, well, that's the "gorgeous-est" thing of all....

This house turned restaurant offers up Indian Lake's only Chinese restaurant called China Fortune. Why not get some take-out and take your take-out back to Oak Island?

You're sunburned and relaxed from boating and water skiing and swimming all day. You had pizza yesterday and the steaks on the grill you are planning can wait until tomorrow. You've got beer and wine chilling in the fridge, lawn chairs waiting for you to sit down, sigh, and experience another glorious Oak Island sunset. Enjoy. There truly is no other place at Indian Lake as special as Oak Island.

Indian Lake's newest establishment, Indian Lake Brewing Company is packed with beer and beer drinkers! Wine too!

Indian Lake Brewing Company is walking distance to everything in the village of Russells Point. The harbor's to your left as you exit. The Donut Shoppe's across the street. Lu Lu's at the Lake and The Landing are also nearby. Dock your boat at the harbor and hang out awhile on the mainland before you return to your Oak Island vacation.

You can also exit Indian Lake Brewing Company and walk to your right and just keep going...and going, and going, and going! Indian Lake's almost seven mile walking and biking path hugs Indian Lake all the way to Old Field Beach and beyond.

But come on back to your boat. It's time to return to the serenity of Oak Island and just breathe. You deserve it.

There's a very small town with a state's name near Indian Lake. This little gem of a place has a brand new (opening today, March 1, 2023!) eatery, a store with lots of "Made in Ohio" goodies, and a spice shop where you can go wild! So, where's John? And what are the names of these establishments?

Gather 'round! That man, John Snyder's out and about again! Looks like he's had just enough time to annoy me with ANOTHER Oklahoma sweatshirt! 😀

Indian Lake's small towns of Russells Point, Lakeview, and Huntsville have many great eateries. This one's in Russells Point and it's got funky coffees and teas, delish locally made goodies, and just an all around great vibe. You will love it! So, where is our man John today?

Check out Oak Island for one of the most unique, once-in-a-life-time (unless you come twice!) vacations at Indian Lake. You will love it. Check us out!
