San Mateo County Expired Marine Flare Collection Event, 10/25

Calling all residents and boaters who live in or berth their boat in San Mateo County (SMC)! If you have any expired marine flares that you'd like to dispose of, there will be a flare collection event in Half Moon Bay on October 25 from 10 AM - 2 PM. This event is free, but by appointment only - so be sure to call (650) 372-6200 or visit smchealth.org/hhw to make your appointment. You must provide proof of residency, boat berth, or business address in SMC to participate.

Live music and dinner! Sierra Point Yacht Club

Saturday, October 17, 2026 is our October monthly Club Dinner and our Annual Election of the SPYC Board of Directors / Annual meeting.
Come enjoy a meal while attending the Annual Meeting!
Chef Jay Moore will be creating a very tasty dinner to celebrate the BOD Elections and the Annual Meeting.
(NOTE: Members do not need to register for dinner to attend the meeting). AND there will be live music by The Road Runners throughout the evening!

ONLINE VOTING will end at 4:00 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2026
In person voting will start at 5 p.m.
Appetizers will be served at 6 p.m.
The Annual Meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. prior to dinner service.
The main meal served at 7:30 p.m. will be
Coq au Vin (w**e braised chicken), mashed potatoes, Garlic green beans, and fall green salad
Dessert - Jay's grandmother's apple raisin bread pudding

Please login and Register Now for the dinner so the volunteer chef can get an early estimate of needed supplies.

Club Secretary says:
"We will be having our Officers and Directors election online, as well as in-person at the Club House on October 17th prior to the Club dinner. We encourage members to attend the Annual Meeting and vote in person, and the dinner will be wonderful. If you can’t make it, or if you are not coming to the Club House, you should participate in the election by voting online in advance. Please note that online voting ends at 4:00 p.m. on October 17, 2026. For more details, see the election email announcement from the Club Secretary."

If you want to have dinner (and you should as it will be yummy!), as a courtesy to our chefs please, register before the end of business Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Members $25. Guests welcome $30.
