From concept to ex*****on we are so pleased with our under the stilts buildout. Originally the idea was mostly based on functionality. We wanted to hide the view of the water system, raise the walkway that was always overblown with sand and provide an outdoor shower and dedicated space for storage and garbage. What we ended up with was a new playground and hangout space under the house. After a day at the beach, this is now the favored space to hang out, sheltered from sun and afternoon showers, the raised steps provides extra seating. The ring toss and swings provide entertainment. The hot and cold enclosed outdoor shower provides a spa like experience, and the foot bath makes it comfortable to rinse off sandy feet in any season. It is so rewarding to see the space develop from idea to ex*****on, scroll through to see early sketches of the project. Two years ago we took on the renovation of the kitchen at the seahorse. The old kitchen was very dated and had a poor layout. Today this is one of my favorite parts of the house. This is where the day starts with a good cup of coffee and where family gathers to prepare and share meals. Scroll through to see before and during renovation pictures.
