📅 When: Saturday, July 4, 2026
⏰ Concert: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Plaza de la Constitución
🎆 Fireworks: 9:00 PM to 9:20 PM over Matanzas Bay
📍 Best Viewing Areas: Bridge of Lions, bayfront, downtown waterfront, and around the Castillo de San Marcos
🚗 Parking & Transportation
✅ City-owned parking lots and street parking are FREE on July 4.
✅ Historic Downtown Parking Garage is open but will fill quickly.
✅ Free Park & Ride shuttles run from Anastasia Island from 6:00 PM to Midnight:
• Anastasia Baptist Church
• St. Augustine Amphitheatre
• R.B. Hunt Elementary
• St. Augustine Alligator Farm (parking only)
🚶 Arrive early and expect heavy traffic.
🚧 Major Road Closures
⛔ Beginning around 7:30 PM
• Bridge of Lions
• Avenida Menendez
• South Castillo Drive
• Several downtown streets
⛔ King Street Bridge remains under construction.
🚗 Many roads won’t fully reopen until approximately 11:30 PM to Midnight.
💡 Local Tips
✔️ Be parked and in your viewing spot before 7:30 PM.
✔️ Bring chairs or blankets for the Plaza concert.
✔️ After the fireworks, grab dinner, ice cream, or a drink downtown and wait for traffic to ease.
✔️ No open containers are allowed in public.
🎇 This year’s celebration is extra special as America celebrates its 250th birthday, with one of the largest fireworks displays on Florida’s East Coast featuring more than 5,000 shells over the bayfront. 🇺🇸✨
