Good morning DMRVP and happy September! The 'ber months are upon us 🍂🍁

Schedules got a bit chaotic so we're a little late on spotlighting our next business, but don't worry! We are gonna do 2 business spotlights this month.

To start off September, our next small business also happens to be one of our long term guests! Summer Goff Photography & Art.

Summer is a self-taught artist and photographer of 15 years, and her main focus for the past several years has been her hyper-realistic charcoal paintings. Her works look like incredible drawings but they are actually dry brush paintings using fine charcoal powder and makeup brushes to create the soft realistic affects.

Majority of the subjects she paints are horses, dogs, cats, but she also loves to dabble with wildlife as well. If you're ever in the office, check out the beautiful canvas painting she did of a deer family that's hanging at the end of the coffee bar.

She works full time locally and loves to spend her free time, especially during the colder months, painting in her studio. Good afternoon DMRVP,

We hope you have had an amazing summer so far and it's time for another small business spotlight. This time around we are spotlighting Sweet Starling Co. that is located down at the water front here in St Helens.

Sweet Starling Co. recently relocated to the waterfront and have on display the cutest gifts ranging from Twilight movie memorabilia, Halloween town merch, handmade jewelry, tumblers & accessories, perfumes, clothes and more!

It's a quaint little shop and definitely worth stopping by while you're exploring the waterfront.

Time for our next small business highlight, Crunchy Littles Consignment!

Now I know we all feel the financial strains of the economy and the cost of living, and when raising children we can use all the help we can get to save money. Crunchy Littles is a children's and maternity consignment store where you can find all the things you need for your growing family at affordable prices.

The owner, Jillian Scott, recently ended up moving from the corner of the entrance to our park, to a much bigger space off of Columbia Blvd. And in a very short time, has filled that space with so many goodies!

Good morning DMRVP 🐸🌞

Since we have had a pretty mild and warm winter, y'all certainly have heard the music of our local frogs in the wetland next to us for the past month. One of nature's most beautiful songs!

Did you know frogs have highly permeable skin that absorbs toxins, so if they are present that means clean water free of pollutants?

As predators, frogs consume vast quantities of insects, including disease carriers such as mosquitoes, flies, and ticks. They also eat slugs and snails that can damage crops and gardens.

Tadpoles are herbivores that feed on algae, which helps keep water clean and prevents excessive algal blooms which is great considering we are surrounded by water.

So next time you hear them in full song, just know we live next to a healthy and clean water ecosystem 😊
