After six incredible years, thank you to every woman who stayed, supported, and helped shape SheCasa into more than just a crashpad. You built community, connection, and something truly special.

As the culture shifts and the demand and support for female centric crashpads has declined, we’ve made the difficult decision to convert most SheCasa homes into standard co-ed properties. One SheCasa home will remain open at Altus—as long as there’s steady interest.

💫 A new chapter is ahead. We’ll be unveiling a new name and fresh branding soon—still here, just evolving.

P.S. Didn’t know? We also run Crashpad Connections, our sister company. Whether you’re looking for female-only housing or any other TDY lodging arrangements, we’re happy to help you find the right fit through that network.

Shell 77. We remember. Here’s a toast.

Today, we raise a toast to honor the lives of TSgt. Herman Mackey, Capt. Mark Voss, and Capt. Victoria “Tory” Pinckney, lost on May 3, 2013, when Shell 77, a KC-135, went down in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan.

We say their names. We remember them.

Tory Pinckney was more than a pilot. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, athlete, baker, crocheter, and trailblazer. From her first flight in high school, she knew she was destined for the skies. She went on to graduate from the Air Force Academy in 2008 with a degree in Systems Engineering—married her classmate, Richard—and began a life of service and adventure.

She flew the KC-135 with pride, earned her Master’s in Psychology, and in 2012 welcomed her greatest joy: her son Gabriel. Seven months later, she deployed—and gave her life in service during that mission.

As a teenager, Tory wrote a paper on “Great Women in Aeronautics.” She ended it with:
“Hopefully one day I will be one of those great women who broke barriers and accomplished the unthinkable.”
Tory, you are.

With the blessing of her family, our master suite at Altus is named in her honor—The Tory Pinckney Suite—so that we can help ensure her legacy will never be forgotten.

Here’s to Shell 77.

We appreciate EVERY girl that stays at SheCasa and supports what we are trying to do with this community and keeping open a female-centric crashpad. Only 7% of pilots are female. This is why there aren’t more female crashpads because there is much more money to be made in standard Crashpads. However, SheCasa is more to us than a business. It has become a beautiful community. I absolutely love the text messages I get from multiple women talking about the women in the house that helped and/or mentored them to get through training or tough life events.

Due to the small number of female pilots, we’ve never been able to have all 4 locations full, but every woman that chooses SheCasa helps us keep all the locations open and available for future women. This helps offset locations that may be empty.

We’re proud to create an environment of women helping women and hope more of you will help us continue growing this special community. 💕
