Alamo Lodge No. 44 was the first Masonic Lodge established in the City of San Antonio (Bexar County), founded in 1848.

Founded in 1848 within the historic walls of the Alamo, Alamo Lodge No. 44 is the oldest Masonic lodge in San Antonio and a proud part of Texas Masonic history. This Wednesday at Alamo Lodge No.44: Stated Meeting & Masonic Education

This Wednesday, August 26th, Alamo Lodge No.44 will hold our second Stated Meeting of the month of August.

As usual, the Lodge will be Open in EA Degree, and all Brothers are encouraged to attend. Entered Apprentices, Fellow Crafts, and Master Masons are welcome to join us and take part in the work and fellowship of the evening.

This is an important meeting you will not want to miss. Among the business before the Lodge, the Brethren will be asked to consider and vote on a relief request that has been received.

We will also have a meaningful educational segment from our Chaplain, Brother Vince Pierce, on the 24-Inch Gauge and its lessons for everyday life.

The 24-Inch Gauge teaches us more than how to divide our time. It invites us to consider how we use the 24 hours we are given each day, where we place our attention, how present we are with those around us, and what we are building one day at a time.

Dinner will be served at 6:15 PM. Lodge opens at 7:00 PM. Fellowship will follow from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Dress is coat and tie or formal.

All Brothers are welcome to attend the meeting. Guests are warmly invited to join us for dinner and return for fellowship following the meeting.

Tomorrow, Alamo Lodge No. 44 has the privilege of honoring Brother Allan Lazor for a lifetime of service to Freemasonry.

Brother Lazor will be recognized with both his 50-Year Service Award and the Golden Trowel Award, two meaningful honors that reflect decades of dedication, leadership, and service to the Craft.

Throughout his Masonic journey, Brother Lazor has served in many capacities, including as Grand Secretary, and has devoted countless hours to strengthening Masonry and supporting the brethren around him.

We invite all Brothers, family, and friends to join us for this special occasion and help us show Brother Lazor and his family the appreciation and gratitude they deserve.

Another Productive Night at Alamo Lodge No.44

Yesterday evening at Alamo Lodge No.44 was a quieter night, but a meaningful one.

After a busy start to the Masonic year, we enjoyed an evening focused on fellowship, practice, candidate work, and preparation for the weeks ahead. As usual, the night began with dinner, and our Stewards once again spoiled the brethren, visitors, and candidates with a delicious meal.

After dinner, the officers and degree team moved into practice, working on the ritual and preparing for our upcoming events and degree work. These nights may not always be formal or heavily programmed, but they are essential to the strength of the Lodge. They give us time to sharpen our work, support our candidates, and grow together as brethren.

Following a successful practice, we returned to the dining area and enjoyed more time in fellowship with our brothers, visitors, and candidates.

Alamo Lodge No.44 continues to build momentum through steady work, meaningful participation, and brotherly love. Sometimes the most valuable evenings are the simple ones spent together.

This Wednesday, August 19, Alamo Lodge No. 44 will enjoy a quieter evening focused on ritual, candidate work, and fellowship.

Our officers will be practicing the opening and closing of a Master Mason Lodge as we prepare for the Grand Master’s visit on August 22. At the same time, our Degree Team will begin preparation for our upcoming Fellow Craft Degree in the first week of September.

Entered Apprentices are especially encouraged to attend, as a Brother will be available to help with proficiency and continued progress in the work.

Dinner will be served at 6:15 PM, and the recommended dress is business casual.

Guests and Brothers who are not participating in practice are still welcome to join us for dinner and remain afterward for fellowship. Some of the most valuable evenings in Masonry are the ones spent working together, sharpening our Craft, and enjoying the company of our Brethren.

A Wonderful Night at Alamo Lodge No. 44

Last night, Alamo Lodge No. 44 enjoyed a meaningful and memorable Stated Meeting filled with fellowship, celebration, and progress.

As is our custom, the evening began with dinner together, giving the brethren, guests, and visitors an opportunity to gather in fellowship before the work of the Lodge. We also took time to celebrate our August birthdays with cake and good cheer.

We were honored during the evening by the presence of R.W. Chip Green, as well as two of our own Past Masters who are currently serving as Grand Lodge Officers. Their presence helped make the evening even more special.

During the meeting, we conducted important Lodge business and were pleased to approve the affiliation of a couple of brothers whom we are very happy to welcome into the Alamo Lodge family. We are also encouraged by the continued growth of the Lodge, with new potential candidates visiting, petitioning, and showing genuine interest in the Craft.

The meeting concluded in peace and harmony and was followed by an hour of fellowship, where we were able to spend more time with our guests and brothers.

Alamo Lodge No. 44 continues to move forward with strength, unity, and purpose, and nights like this are a reminder of what can be accomplished when the brethren come together in friendship and brotherly love.

This Wednesday at Alamo Lodge No.44: Stated Meeting & August Birthdays

Tomorrow evening, Alamo Lodge No.44 will hold our monthly Stated Meeting, and we invite all Masons to join us for fellowship, dinner, Lodge business, and the celebration of our brethren with August birthdays.

Fellowship will begin at 6:00 PM, dinner will be served at 6:15 PM, and Lodge will open promptly at 7:00 PM. The Lodge will be Open in EA Degree, and all Entered Apprentices and Fellow Crafts are encouraged to attend and observe how the business of the Lodge is conducted.

We will discuss important Lodge business, enjoy fellowship together as brethren after the meeting, and celebrate our August birthday brothers. We will also have a door prize sponsored by Past Master Miguel Rodriguez.

*A Smashing Success: Our First Open House of the Masonic Year**

Yesterday evening, Alamo Lodge No.44 hosted our first Open House of the 2026–2027 Masonic year, and it was a tremendous success.

We were honored to welcome more than 30 brethren, candidates, guests, friends, and visitors for an evening of dinner, fellowship, history, education, and meaningful conversation.

The evening began, as it often does at Alamo Lodge, around the table. Our Stewards treated everyone to a wonderful Italian dinner, setting the tone for a warm and welcoming night.

After dinner, our guests were taken on a guided tour of the historic Scottish Rite Building, where we shared the history of the building, the Scottish Rite, Masonry in San Antonio, and the role Freemasonry continues to play in our community.

The tour concluded in the Alamo Lodge room, where we shared an educational presentation about Freemasonry, the history of Alamo Lodge No.44, and what it means to be part of this ancient and honorable fraternity.

We are grateful to everyone who attended, helped welcome our guests, prepared the meal, led the tour, supported the presentation, and made the evening such a success.

Open House Night at Alamo Lodge No. 44

This Wednesday, August 5th, Alamo Lodge No. 44 will host our first Open House of the 2026–2027 Masonic Year, and we invite our members, guests, candidates, friends, and anyone curious about Freemasonry to join us.

Dinner will be served at 6:15 PM.

At 7:00 PM, we will begin a guided tour of the historic Scottish Rite Building, ending in the Alamo Lodge room. After the tour, we will share a brief presentation on the history of Alamo Lodge No. 44, followed by questions and open discussion with our guests.

Our quarterly Open House is part of our continued effort to open our doors, share what Freemasonry is, explain what we do, and help answer questions or clear up misconceptions about Masonry and its role in the community.

A Night to Remember at Alamo Lodge No.44

Last night, Alamo Lodge No.44 brought back a beautiful Masonic tradition with our first Festive Board in many years.

The evening was a true success, filled with brotherhood, fellowship, thoughtful education, inspiring toasts, and the kind of shared experience that strengthens the bonds between brethren. Around the table, the Brothers enjoyed good food, good drink, meaningful conversation, and the simple but powerful joy of being together in peace and harmony.

A Festive Board is more than a dinner. It is a celebration of the Craft, a reminder of our obligations to one another, and an opportunity to pause, reflect, laugh, learn, and build stronger ties as Masons and as men.

We are grateful to every Brother who attended, participated, offered a toast, helped with the planning, and contributed to making the evening memorable. Nights like this do not happen by accident; they are built through effort, participation, and a shared love for the Lodge.

To the Brothers who wanted to attend but could not make it, you were missed. We have a second Festive Board planned later this Masonic year, and we hope you will make every effort to join us for the next one.
