Actions Past

Actions Past Actions Past specializes in the coordination and production of historically themed special events and reenactments. We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are in northern California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our activities include research, costuming and improvisational acting. As dedicated historical reenactors, we find it difficult to limit our involvement to just one era. We span five centuries of history from Medieval through Renaissance; the English Civil War to the age of Caribbean pirates; the California Gold Rush and the American Wi

ld West; the age of Regency splendor and Victorian London. In some cases, Actions Past acts as the sponsor of specific research groups intended to delve more completely into particular eras that interest us. This is the case with the School of the Renaissance Soldier and Government House. Actions Past frequently participates in events intended to entertain and educate the public. Just as often, our events are intended only for ourselves, offering an opportunity for like-minded enthusiasts to gather in a full immersion environment to practice their craft. Here, members can come together to learn from each other's experience. These events provide a venue in which to put into practice what we collectively, as reenactors, have learned; a laboratory to test those hypotheses and concepts suggested by our research.

SF History Days - 2017
On the weekend of March 4th and 5th, performers from Actions Past Players made their 6th annual appearance at the historic Old Mint. This very successful event, San Francisco History Days, gives guests the opportunity to directly interact with community historians, archivists, genealogists, archaeologists, researchers, educators, living history reenactors and other history enthusiasts in a free Community Open House at the historic site.
Our cast included over twenty actors each day, portraying a range of characters (both the famous and the infamous) from San Francisco's colorful past. Actions Past Players offered presentations, first-person interpretation and meet and greet and an a historically accurate Faro table, run by the noted gambler, Charles Cora.
