History of the Cabin:
In 1983, my grandfather purchased and relocated the historic cabin from a plantation in Douglas County, Georgia, dating back to the late 1850s. Tragically, the cabin was destroyed by a lightning strike in 1993, leaving only the original chimney intact. My grandfather finished rebuilding the new cabin in 1994. After my grandfather’s passing in 2017, ownership passed to my mother and uncle. Following my mother’s death in 2020, I acquired my uncle’s share and began the restoration work on the dilapidated cabin.

Renovation:

I dedicated four years to renovating and crafting the cabin, finishing the endeavor in June 2024. The majority of the artwork featured within is of my own making. This endeavor was driven by my admiration for my grandfather, the cabin’s original builder. I aimed to honor his legacy and provide a space for others to appreciate the beauty that has brought me joy throughout my life.
