Mah Jongg U

I have now successfully taught over 1000 students. (documented)! Whew!

After contracting with various community and private clubs throughout the Valley of The Sun, I’m now concentrating on private classes by referral only.

With the recent surge of interest, I want to emphasize the importance of learning from a qualified, experienced teacher. There is a lot of misinformation being taught and bad habits are hard to break. Learn the correct rules and you will be able to play Mah Jongg with anyone abiding by the same NMJL rules.

Mah Jongg really is a “brain game” involving strategy, finess moves, and luck. Lately, there seems to be a lot of interest in making the game easier; that is not the purpose of the game. If you want to dummy down, and learn easier ways to play, I’m not your person.

It’s not about the frills…
Fancy tiles, fancy mats, cute lamps; none of those will make you a better player.

You just need the basics when learning to play; tiles, a rule book and an experienced teacher.

The frills are fun, but they’re not the key to becoming a good player.

Opportunity knocked, and I answered.
I’m out of the area until the end of September.
I will be answering inquiries for classes as soon as I return.🀄️

I’m taking some time off from teaching…but I’m planning a little something.
I’ll post when I have details!

Sharing my favorite teaching aids...I wrote to the NMJL for permission to copy card for the big teaching card. I make a new one every year. Also, the visual tile chart is helpful, especially if you are walking around tables in a classroom.
I created the Bart Simpson chalkboard mime on https://imgflip.com/memegenerator/ and shared it on https://www.facebook.com/groups/MahJonggThatsIt for all to use.
Prizes range from silly Mah Jongg socks to jewelry, ornaments and mugs. Incentive and rewards make it fun!
