Today, our hearts are heavy as we stand with the Bend community following the tragic school shooting.
The Cannon Beach Police Department extends our deepest condolences, prayers, and unwavering support to the victims, their families, friends, and everyone whose lives have been forever changed by today’s events.
To the first responders who rushed toward danger, the school staff who worked to protect their students, and the medical professionals, dispatchers, and countless others responding to this tragedy — we stand beside you.
No family should ever have to experience the fear and heartbreak of violence in a place where children should feel safe, learn, and grow.
As a law enforcement family, we know that the impact of a tragedy like this reaches far beyond the scene. The emotional scars carried by survivors, families, educators, first responders, and an entire community can last a lifetime.
To the Bend community: You are not alone. Your brothers and sisters in law enforcement, and communities throughout Oregon, stand with you.
