The Ignite Church

The Ignite Church Ignite is an explosive Sunday series which brings together professionals across the DC area every 2nd-5th Sunday of the month at 10am.

Ignite JHDC is a church based in the DC metro area with a passion for helping you discover your God in a new way, love others and lead a purpose filled life. We are a ministry of Jesus House DC. Services take place on the 2nd-5th Sunday of the month at 12:30PM in person and online. We also foster connection through our Wednesday Lighthouse small group meetings, Thursday video prayer meetings, singles ministry and our anchor groups for young men and women.

DAY 4 — FILL US

There is a place that only the presence of the Holy Spirit can fill.

Today, we pray for a fresh outpouring. Fresh fire. Fresh hunger. Fresh dependence on God.

Holy Spirit, fill our hearts. Fill our homes. Fill our church. Let Your presence overflow in us and through us.

We don’t want to leave these five days the same way we entered them.

DAY 3 — REVIVE US

“Revive us, and we will call upon Your name.”

Today, we ask God to breathe life back into the places in us that have grown tired, distracted, or distant.

Holy Spirit, awaken our hearts. Restore our hunger for You. Renew our passion for Your presence.

We don’t just want to go through the motions—we want to be alive in Him again.

Lord, Revive Us.

DAY 2 — PROTECT US

Today, we declare God’s covering over us.

Over our lives.
Over our families.
Over our church.
Over everything God has entrusted to us.

No weapon formed against us will prosper. We trust that God is our refuge, our defender, and our protector.

Today, we pray: Lord, protect us.

DAY 1 — FORGIVE US 🤍

We begin by coming before God with open hearts.

Today is a day of reflection, alignment, and receiving His mercy.

We ask God to search our hearts, reveal what needs to be surrendered, and teach us to extend the same forgiveness we have received from Him.

“Forgive us”, not because we deserve it, but because He is merciful

Alpha is a place to explore faith, ask honest questions, have real conversations, meet new people, and discover more about Jesus. No pressure. No judgment. Just a space to come curious and leave with something to think about.

And yes, dinner is provided every week.

Starting August 27 through October 29, we’re making room for the questions, conversations, laughs, and discoveries that come with exploring faith together.

So invite the friend who’s new to faith.
Invite the friend who has questions.
Invite the friend who’s been curious but hasn’t known where to start.

Honestly, invite the friend who just loves a good dinner and a great conversation.

Prayer is not only how we bring our needs before God. It is also where we receive the boldness to face adversity, stand in authority, and contend in the battles before us.

There are things concealed that require us to pray audacious prayers. There are doors that require us to ask boldly, believe boldly, and approach God with confidence.

“Father, open my mouth to speak with authority. Teach me to pray with boldness, faith, and confidence in who You are. Give me the courage to ask for what only You can reveal and bring forth.”

“The righteous are as bold as a lion.” — Proverbs 28:1

May we never shrink back in prayer. May we learn to approach the throne boldly, knowing that our Father hears us.

Worship is prayer without limits.

It is more than the songs we sing or the words we say. Worship is our response to who God is. It is surrender. It is intimacy. It is a posture that says, “God, You are worthy, and I trust You.”

Sometimes the deepest prayers are not spoken. They are sung. They are lifted. They are surrendered at the feet of Jesus.

As we continue to uncover The Secret of Prayer, may we learn that prayer is not only about asking God for something, but about encountering Him, honoring Him, and aligning our hearts with His.

When worship becomes our prayer, His presence becomes our pursuit.
