The Town of Silverthorne recognizes Juneteenth today, June 19. This federal holiday is observed annually to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States and is a time to reflect on our history. Town offices are open today.

The response to this post is a reminder why Pride is so important, and is so much more than just a fun celebration (which we assure you, this very much is).

When a post about inclusion is met with hundreds of comments filled with hostility, stereotypes, and hate, it underscores why visibility, community, and allyship still matter.

We are so stoked to celebrate with you this weekend. More importantly, we're proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community and provide a space where people feel welcome, respected, and safe.
