It's a COLD ONE! With the extreme cold weather here, remember these important tips to stay safe & warm!

* Never leave space heaters unattended and plug them directly into a wall outlet, not an extension cord.
* Bring pets indoors.
* Keep faucets dripping slightly and open cabinet doors to allow warm air to reach pipes.
* Close off unused rooms, stuff towels in cracks under doors, and close blinds or curtains to retain heat.
* Dress in layers if going outside – frostbite can occur within 10 minutes.
* Minimize time outside; if you must go out, take frequent breaks in warm areas.
* If traveling, have an emergency kit with jumper cables, blankets, food, water and extra medication.
* Keep your gas tank full. A full tank prevents the fuel line from freezing.
