Prime Time is underway here on the Kenai Peninsula!

Our guests have arrived and everyone is eagerly waiting for the salmon run to build.

Rain or shine, there's no better place to be than on the Kenai River.

With more than 4 million sockeye forecasted to return this season, we're excited to see what the next two weeks bring.

Stay tuned, we're just getting started!

Happy Father's Day to the man behind Kenai King Lodge!

Our dad built the lodge after years of exploring Alaska and dreaming about having a place where family, fishing, and adventure could all come together.

If he had his way today, he'd be smoking fresh salmon straight from the Kenai River.

What's on your Father's Day menu? Here are some of our lodge favorites!

Smoked salmon
Halibut pasta
Oysters
Moose ribs

Happy Father's Day from the Kenai King Lodge family!

One of our favorite easy hikes on the Kenai Peninsula is Russian River Falls!

If you're hoping to see a bear during your Alaska trip, this is one of the first places we recommend.

The trail is an easy walk and a great option for most visitors, of all ages. There are two viewing areas, the Lower Falls and Upper Falls, where you can watch salmon making their way upstream during the run.

Since the Russian River meets the Kenai River nearby, the salmon stack up here... and the bears know it too.

We make this walk every summer and never get tired of it. The falls are beautiful, the wildlife is incredible, and there's always a chance you'll spot a bear.

Have you ever seen a bear in the wild?

The family behind Kenai King Lodge:

Our family built the lodge in 2006 after years of Kevin exploring Alaska and the surrounding area.

Today, you'll still find Kevin, Liz, and family spending summers at the lodge fishing, hiking, processing salmon, spotting wildlife, and making memories together.

The family has grown over the years, with all four kids now married and even a few grandkids beginning their own Alaska adventures.

While we're rarely all here at once anymore, there's almost always a member of the family around the lodge each summer... and often Papa Mike (Kevin's dad), too!

We're grateful to share this special place with guests each season!

The Lodge got an upgrade this week! We added an outdoor kitchen just steps off the back porch! Thanks, Adam!

We broke it in with a breakfast spread and a pretty great view of the Kenai River. What should we cook next?

It’s colder in Indiana than Alaska right now ❄️

If we’re choosing cold, we’re choosing THIS view!
So now we’re dreaming of mountains, glacial ice, and being back at the lodge in just three months.
