Here’s a new improved tour of the Penthouse. I am always amazed at what a tranquil and eye pleasing space this is.

Close to the end of construction. I finally hung the glass piece in the Sunshine Shotgun Kitchen. I’m driving David crazy with my artist’s eye, but doesn’t this look great? Just took sawing off the holder attachment, finding the soldering iron and supplies in the garage, (huge!), resoldering the hook back on, and hanging it as a diamond instead of a square...in between septic tank adventures. Never a dull moment at the Slippery Slope.

We’re to the bones now, and putting a little meat on them. It’s starting to look like a place. Still so much to do...and buy! An epiphany today: Rental will be weekly or monthly. Not short term, and medium-ish. I think I’d really like that weekly option. A few details with the pictures. Stay tuned...

Today’s project, (among others), refinishing the old trestle table. Wow. I love it. I always said I was a wood slut. Loving me some old, repurposed wood. Now if I could just find an old, repurposed woodworker.

A bit of a progress report on the dining space. A new/old table made its way back into my life, and it was perfect for here. I’ll change the chairs to the more substantial Mexican variety to honor it. Still have to finish the table and the walls, but I am loving this. And the rug...yes! The previous artsy/“girly” table and chairs have found their place in the bedroom. It’s not going to be too long now.

There’s nowhere to start but start, and I’ll figure out a way to document the beginnings later. Here’s a new page to highlight the goings on upstairs, which is going to be a rentable space when it grows up. We’re getting there. (And I’m getting awfully mature.).

Anyway, the Sunshine Alley Kitchen is just about finished, bare bones-wise, enough to give you a peek. Still the finishments to go, then decorating and stocking, but I love this warm and happy space. Just think when I get STUFF in it!

Sometimes I’m amazed at what I put together. Queenie’s Penthouse Suite is going to be the most wondrous space.

And so, Sunshine Alley Kitchen, bare, with thanks to David Price for making my ideas come to life.

Stay tuned for the story of a special place coming to life.
