This open-air biergarten sits right across from the historic Mast Farm Inn, and it’s basically a dream if you’re traveling with kids (or a leashed pup 🐾). Grab a cold beer or glass of wine while the little ones say hi to the horses, goats, and mini goats roaming the yard — plus Howie the donkey, who’s basically the mayor of the place.

Open seasonally (May–Oct). It’s the perfect stop on your way to or from Sugar Mountain/Banner Elk.🏔️

Add in the Mile High Swinging Bridge and the Nature Museum and it’s an easy full-day adventure. You’ll be back at the cabin in time for grilling on the deck.

Downtown Blowing Rock is small enough to cover in an easy afternoon loop, but packed with more than a century of stories — Gilded Age hotels, mountain entrepreneurs, artists, and the quiet mountain village that grew into one of the Southeast’s favorite escapes.
