Some weeks just take it out of you.

And sometimes the best therapy isn’t talking about it — it’s climbing on the tractor, putting everything else on mute for a while, and making a little order out of the chaos.

There’s something about being outside, working with your hands, and watching a messy field slowly start to look right again that settles your brain in a way not much else can.

So if life feels like it’s falling apart a little… maybe go find your version of a tractor. 🌿🚜

You never know who’s going to be hiding along the river.
This little crawdad found himself a pretty good house. 😂
What do you call them—crawdad, crayfish, or crawfish?

This resonates.

This little surprise was a gift from one of our Facebook friends and Wampus Cat Landing supporters, Sarah J. from Sarah J’s Crop Shop. 🥰

The candle itself was made by White Pine Collections in Bristol — and apparently they’ve figured out how to make Wampus Cat smell pretty darn good. 😂

Thank you, Sarah. We love it. ❤️

A few days ago, I was feeling pretty proud of myself because we had finally gotten the tractor working again.

Then I bush hogged right into the cattle waterer. 🤦‍♀️

So naturally, the next project became fixing the broken water line I had just created.

Thankfully, Brent is very good at being the fixer in this relationship. ❤️

The water line is working again.

The cattle waterer itself is still crunched beyond belief, so that one is staying on the to-do list.

Which one are you—the messer-upper or the fixer?

Our bulldozer had been sitting dead for months, and we honestly weren’t sure when—or if—we were going to get it going again.

Then tonight…

⚡️ IT LIVES! ⚡️

Huge thanks to Stowers Cat in Kingsport for getting us back in business. Now we can finally get back to moving dirt and making progress at Wampus Cat Landing.

This is Paul Barrett, and this incredible Wampus Cat Landing diorama is his work.

Paul is the same incredibly talented craftsman who hand-paints fishing lures, and somehow he managed to take all the odd little pieces of our Wampus Cat Landing vision and turn them into this.

The river. The kayaks. The airplane. The campers. The cabin. The fire pit. The vehicles. The signs. The trees. Every time we look at it, we find another tiny detail.

Paul is also far too modest about how talented he is. The amount of creativity, patience, and craftsmanship that went into this is remarkable.

Meanwhile, the real Wampus Cat Landing is still being built one project, one mower pass, and occasionally one broken piece of equipment at a time. 😂

Paul, thank you. We absolutely love it, and we will treasure it. ❤️
