We started the trend of organizing our info via lists. We spotlight both recreational & cultural attractions. I am Maureen and I am the writer and trip planner of Top Ten Travel List. My significant other, Mike, is the web developer and designer. We both spend our weekends traveling, hiking, exploring new cities, dining at local restaurants, taking daytrips, and uncovering hidden gems. We started
this site over a decade ago to showcase wonderful places and hidden gems throughout the US. Back in the day, we noticed many travel bloggers only covered international travel. We wanted to show that you do not have to spend a lot of money to explore beautiful places in the US. America is home to so many of its' own treasures including world-class cultural attractions, stunning national parks, and amazing historic places. You do not need to feel pressured to travel internationally if you do not have the time or money. Mike and I are both originally from the Chicago metro. We have been moving and traveling across the US for 15 years now. What started as a fun side project (when I could not find a job) has turned into a passion for both of us. Much of our focus is on adventure activities. We explore natural wonders, amazing hikes, & hidden gems no matter where we go. Thus far, we have lived in 12 states and 15 cities. We use no AI or stock photos, no affiliate links, and we do not take any sponsored trips. Everything we feature on our site has received an official nod of approval from us. We believe in focusing only on positive businesses and attractions we have encountered along the years, so this is what you will see on our site.
