Sun City Hilton Head Softball Travel Team Sun City Travel Softball The Sun City Travel Softball program was started in 2007. And we play ISSA and SPA tournaments as a 60 AA team.

We are a community team that lives in Sun City Hilton Head located in Bluffton, South Carolina. We play a number of home and away games as well as host our own invitational tournaments. We are the 2009 ISSA National Champions having won the 55 AA division in Manassas, Va. We also won the SPA 55 AA National Championship in 2010 in Dalton, GA. In 2012 we won the 60 AA ISSA Myrtle Beach tournament an

d the 2012 inaugural Del Webb Classic in Charlotte, NC. We are a bunch of guys that enjoy Senior Softball and have a good time together. Our wives are an integral part of our success as we travel well as a team. Sun City Hilton Head is a wonderful community to live in and we encourage high level softball players to consider us as a place to live and play in your retirement years.

The Sun City Travel Team earned the title 60+ AA Champions in the Myrtle Beach National Invitational I.S.S.A. Tournament March 25-29 , 2015. Pitcher Bob Lee was named MVP.

Sun City Hilton Head Softball Travel Team won the International Senior Softball Association World Tournament of Champions 60+AA tournament in Tampa, Fl. Sun City competed against teams from Pennsylvania and Maryland and finished undefeated in the elimination round of the double elimination tournament. Sun City defeated Springford 60's from Pennsylvania 27 - 17 to win the championship.

The Saturday before Memorial Day is a special time for the Sun City Travel Team. We are honored to participate in an event that honors our military and the sacrifices thay have made over the years and raises money to aide charities that support the members of our military injuried in the line of duty and thier families. Last year over $5000.00 was donated to the Wounded Warriors Project. This year the Fisher House, which provides housing for families to be close to loved ones hospitalized due to injuries will be the recipient of our donation. Judging by the size of this year's crowd, a similar size donation is expected.
This year's event was extra special for the Team because we got our heart and soul back. Our Manager Ross Glatzer was able to return to the field after a horrific auto accident that left him in a coma for twenty three days and hospitalized for a total of fifty five days.
The Army was represented by the 160th SOAR or the Night Stalkers and elite air group specializing in high risk insertions and extractions. The Marines were represented by a fantastic team from Parris Island. Between them we could count well over 100 tours of duty in Iraq and Afganistan. It was an honor to take the field against these fine young men.
While the games were secondary to the meaning of the day, we were able to scratch out of victory over the Army, and hang with the Marines for about four innings before thier speed and youth prevailed.
Congratulations to the Marines on going 2-0 and winning the day.
But, more importantly thank all of you for what you do for our Country.
