We visited Oak Harbor RV park and campground in Haines City. This shady park is on a lake and there's on boat trailer storage lot. Great park for those who love fishing.

There's a dog park, but it's not shaded. Rustic style facilities and the park looks clean. No pool. There are several alligator warning signs. Some spaces are on a short canal that leads to the lake.

Hickory Point RV Park in Tarpon Springs is right on Anclote River on the Gulf. They welcome all ages and pets. We met long term residents and those staying overnight. You can bring your own kayaks or rent them. If you have a boat, you can launch it from their boat ramp. Rent a dry space for your boat or wet slip. We love this park. We'll definitely spend some time staying here.

Hickory Point RV Park in Tarpon Springs. It's right on the Anclote River off the Gulf. It has boat slips and a boat launch. The view is beautiful.

Where are full-time RVers staying with so many parks closing due to the Coronavirus?

I've found from reading RV group posts and asking RVers that many are driveway surfing at the homes of family and friends.

Some are boondocking in places like Walmart parking lots.

Many private parks are allowing those already in the parks to stay, but they have stopped taking new reservations.

This is all something to think about in the future, if we have another pandemic. Planning is essential.

Silver Lake Campground in Withlacoochee State Forest is a nice campground with a paved road. The campground is on Lake Silver and the view of the lake is beautiful. A boat ramp is conveniently located next door in the recreation area.

The sites are average sized in comparison to RV parks, though some are larger. The bathhouse is newly built, a definite plus. The downside is that the campground is next to I-75 and the traffic is noticeably noisy.

Currently, sites are $25.00 per night. If you are a veteran, active military, 100% disabled, or 65 or older, you can be a $10.00 discount.

Cypress Glen Campground in Withlacoochee State Forest is a rural campground with water and electric hookups and a bathhouse. The campground is on Lake Silver in Brooksville, FL. The lake can be accessed via a foot path. There's no boat ramp within the campground, but there is one within the forest's recreation area.

Most of the sites are ample in size and some have a wooded space between them. Currently, sites are $22.42 per night. We found the best sites based on size, shade, and distance from the lake and bathhouse are sites 45, 46, and 47. Avoid sites 56 and 57; they are across from the trash house.

We're checking out the campgrounds in Withlacoochee State Forest. Cypress Glen Campground is wooded, peaceful, and the sites are nice sized. Silver Lake Campground is on the lake and the road in the campground is paved, but the sites are smaller, and there's a lot of noise from the Interestate.

Today, we visited Airstream of Tampa as part of our Airstream research. Yes, they are expensive RVs; however, they are well-made, modern, sleek, and iconic. Also Airstream owners have an impressive social community across the nation that has been going strong since the 1950s.
